There was a surprising result in the debut match of Olympic Gold medalist Gable Steveson in WWE.
Gable Steveson made his WWE debut on tonight’s NXT Great American Bash in a match against Baron Corbin.
After a match in which the crowd was on Corbin’s side, chanting for Corbin and booing Steveson, it actually ended in a double countout.
After the match, the pair did not cease their fighting, needing a hearty number of WWE referees and “security guards” to keep them apart.
Several of the “security guards” were attacked by Steveson before also being assaulted by Corbin.
Their post-match angle may have left fans in attendance disappointed at first (booing after there was a non-finish to the match), but by the end, it seemed they had their attention recaptured.
Corbin debuted a new entrance ahead of the match, which you can watch at this link.
Elsewhere so far at NXT’s premium live event, NXT Great American Bash, there has been a title change and a women’s ‘Weapons Wild’ match where all weapons were legal, including a cowbell!
