The backstage reaction to Tama Tonga’s WWE debut on last night’s SmackDown has now been revealed.
On last night’s SmackDown broadcast from Detroit, MI, a shocking development in The Bloodline saga unfolded before our eyes.
To the surprise of an unknowing Paul Heyman, Jimmy Uso was seemingly kicked out of The Bloodline when he was attacked by both Solo Sikoa and the debuting Tama Tonga.
Now, following SmackDown, Fightful Select has provided an insight into the reaction backstage to Tonga’s big debut.
According to their report, WWE were “happy” with the reaction Tonga received on TV, considering his lack of exposure in the United States prior to this.
Fightful Select also revealed that unlike other surprise debutants in the past, Tonga was not hidden backstage prior to his appearance on SmackDown.
While Tonga’s arrival and Jimmy’s apparent dismissal presents some exciting changes to The Bloodline post-WrestleMania 40 their may be another new recruit to the family’s ranks afoot.
It has been reported that former MLW World Champion Jacob Fatu has signed with WWE, with his TV debut potentially coming ‘soon’ according to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio.
While WWE are reportedly pleased with Tonga’s TV debut, someone who curiously also seemed to be in jubilant spirits was WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi, despite his son Jimmy being attacked.
