With WWE’s premium live event Royal Rumble coming up in less than a week, the rumor mill is swirling with scintillating theories about shock entrants for both the men’s and women’s Rumble.
One duo we will not see enter the Rumble despite being approached per a new report from Fightful Select are IMPACT stars and current Knockouts Tag Team Champions, The IInspiration.
Formerly known in WWE individually as Peyton Royce and Billie Kay and together as the IIconics, the two champions have found a new home at IMPACT Wrestling since being released by WWE.
The Fightful Select report goes on to say:
“The IIconics were offered a spot in the Rumble match, but Fightful sources indicate that they turned down the offer.
Cassie Lee (Peyton Royce) and Jess McKay (Billie Kay) are now the IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Champions and didn’t feel it was the right time to make a WWE return of any capacity because they’re happy with their current path.”
The Fightful report also notes that Lee and McKay are not the only recently released talent WWE has approached to make a return for the Royal Rumble.
