There’s been a bit of a trend recently of the biggest names in WWE history naming who they think has the most potential to become a star from today’s roster.
Steve Austin backed Kevin Owens, Hulk Hogan named a handful of talent including Ricochet and Charlotte Flair, and in an interview with TMZ, The Rock has expressed praise for Drew McIntyre.
When asked who he thinks could be the next Rock or John Cena, Johnson responded:
“Let’s see…you know, I’m not quite too sure.
“I just know that a lot of guys are obviously working very hard. I spent a lot of time with Roman [Reigns], spent the past week with him and we were talking about everybody who has potential and who doesn’t. Personally, I like Drew McIntyre, I think he’s got a great look, a great build, and especially as he continues to hone in on his craft and connect with the audience, which is always the most important thing. That’s it.”
McIntyre has since taken to Twitter to express his gratitude for such high praise from such an icon of the business:
In all the conversation about the biggest movie of the Summer, I appreciate such high praise from The Great One. We could all learn a thing or two from his work ethic, “All it takes is all you got” @TheRock #HobbsAndShaw https://t.co/c8sJs6DCYZ
