On November 2, 2018, The Undertaker and Kane faced Triple H and Shawn Michaels in Saudi Arabia. It was the first time Michaels had wrestled in eight years. Unfortunately, it was a disaster. Don’t take my word for it, those are The Undertaker’s thoughts.
In a recent episode of The Last Ride, The Undertaker discussed his feelings towards the infamous match. Needless to say, he was not a fan. Here is the quote, courtesy of Fightful:
“It was a total trainwreck. It was a disaster. We’re all humans and things happen even to people you don’t think things would happen to. I take a lot of responsibility because in my mind, I wasn’t there. I mean, I was there physically, but mentally, I wasn’t there. Michelle and I had some personal things going on with other parts of the family. So I had that drama going on in my head that I was consumed with. If that match had come off the way it was intended and the way that we wanted it, that may have been enough for me.”
The match suffered for a number of reasons. One reason being that Triple H was the youngest participant at the age of 49 and another was Triple H suffered a torn pectoral muscle early in the match.
The match was named the worst match of 2018 by many publications, including the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and WrestleTalk.
