Title Match Set For Next Week’s WWE Raw

Stephanie McMahon appeared on tonight’s episode of WWE Raw on the USA Network to announce a championship match for next week.

At the Horror Show at Extreme Rules, Asuka’s Raw Women’s Championship defence against Sasha Banks ended in controversy as Asuka inadvertently struck the referee with her green mist, which prompted Bayley to assign herself as referee and count the pin for Sasha Banks to win and become Raw Women’s Champion.

Banks and Bayley appeared on Raw tonight, gloating about holding all the titles. This prompted Asuka to come out with Kairi Sane and say that they were thieves and she was still the rightful champion.

Stephanie McMahon then popped up from out of nowhere on the titantron, and declared that because neither woman actually won the match on Sunday, she has a solution.

That solution is a rematch between Asuka and Sasha Banks on next week’s episode of the show to determine the true champion. The match can be won and lost by pinfall, submission, countout or disqualification, so a countout or DQ will result in the opponent being the rightful champion.

In case you missed it, the official ruling regarding the United States Championship is that Apollo Crews is still the official champion despite being unable to appear at Extreme Rules to defend against MVP.
