A current champion in TNA Wrestling has confirmed that he suffered multiple injuries during his recent title match.

While he successfully captured his gold at Lockdown, a current title holder is currently recovering from injuries he suffered during the bout, as confirmed on TNA iMPACT.

With Mustafa Ali winning the International Championship at the August 23 special, Ali appeared on the August 27 iMPACT episode via video to confirm that he was in hospital after having suffered fractured ribs.

Ali confirmed in a later social media post that in addition to his fractured ribs, he was also dealing with a punctured lung.

Mustafa Ali took to Twitter to state:

At #TNALockdown I unfortunately suffered a punctured lung and fractured ribs.

I will be back. @ThisIsTNA is mine.

In the replies to this post, a fan pointed out that Ali still appeared during the meet & greet session following Lockdown, after suffering these injuries.

Mustafa Ali won the International Championship from Jason Hotch in a Steel Cage match at Lockdown, capturing the gold after 14 minutes of action.

This is Ali’s second reign with the gold, having held the title for 110 days from April to July, prior to losing it to Hotch.

Overall, this marks Ali’s third singles championship win since joining TNA Wrestling in 2024, with the former WWE star holding the X-Division Championship for 148 days in 2024.

The X-Division Championship is currently vacant, with Leon Slater exercising Option C after winning the title back from Cedric Alexander at Lockdown.

Slater will challenge for Nemeth’s TNA World Championship at Bound For Glory on October 11. The next X-Division Champion will also be crowned at this event, with qualifying matches currently taking place to determine the six stars who will face off for the vacant title.

Also on Thursday’s iMPACT episode, former WWE star Zoey Serrano – fka Zoey Stark – made a debut appearance. TNA Wrestling later confirmed that she has officially signed with the company.

Between new signings – including Avery Styles joining the company – and title changes, the landscape of TNA Wrestling has been changing considerably on the road to Bound For Glory.

We wish Mustafa Ali a safe and healthy recovery from his injuries.
