AEW President and CEO Tony Khan has claimed that the “balance of power” in wrestling has shifted to the fans and AEW.
Tony Khan compared this year’s February ratings with last year’s, noting AEW Dynamite is the only show that didn’t decrease in viewership.
Speaking with Forbes, Khan said:
“If you look at the ratings, year-over-year, the only wrestling company that didn’t plummet in the ratings in February – year-over-year – was AEW. So, yeah, I do think the balance of power has shifted, to the fans and AEW. We keep signing more great wrestlers, and in the next week, you’ll see more wrestlers debuting in AEW.”
Last week, AEW announced the signing of ‘Big Show’ Paul Wight, today announced the signing of Shawn Dean, and will reveal another “huge, huge” signing at Revolution on Sunday.
Khan also spoke specifically about the news of NXT moving to Tuesday nights soon, which you can read more about at this link.
