AEW President Tony Khan has addressed reports about talks between Warner Bros Discovery and WWE.
Warner Brothers Discovery (WBD) owns TBS and TNT, which are the home networks of AEW’s Dynamite, Rampage and Collision shows.
Ahead of WWE securing a new TV rights deal for Raw ahead of September, it was reported in December 2023 that top WWE names including Triple H had met with WBD executives.
This has fuelled a lot of speculation about WWE and AEW’s future TV deals, with rumors swirling about WWE potentially moving Raw to a WBD-owned network.
Speaking on Going Ringside with New4Jax, Tony Khan noted that he expects AEW to be in a very good position with WBD ahead of them renewing their own TV rights.
When asked about WWE and WBD being in contact, Khan said:
“It’s part of sports. I think everybody discusses contracts and free agency and things of that nature.
“I think everybody is aware that everybody is going to be talking to everybody in media this coming year.
“There will be certainly a lot of opportunities. We’ve had a great history with Warner Brothers Discovery and continue to produce great ratings. We’ll be in a very good position next year.”
