Trick Williams Reacts To Carmelo Hayes NXT Title Loss

New NXT North American Champion Trick Williams has reacted to Carmelo Hayes losing the NXT Championship at No Mercy 2023.

During the show, Hayes defended his NXT Title against Ilja Dragunov, but ultimately came up short. Dragunov was able to pin Hayes, ending the popular star’s 182 day reign with the gold.

While it was an unfortunate night for Hayes, his friend and associate Trick Williams scored a huge victory, pinning Dominik Mysterio to win his first ever North American Title.

Following Hayes’ title loss, the former champion took to Twitter to argue that he went down swinging, as promised, tweeting:

Did what I said I was gonna do with the NXT Championship. Went out like a G. Thank you #NXTNoMercy

Williams has now reacted to this, writing:

You ain’t neva lied

Many fans have now speculated that Hayes will ultimately turn on Williams, leading to a feud over the North American Title.

Hayes has history with Trick’s championship, with Hayes holding that title for longer than any other star across combined reigns.

In the main event of NXT No Mercy, Becky Lynch defended her NXT Women’s Championship against Tiffany Stratton in an Extreme Rules bout.
