Former WWE Star Wins Major Championship At IMPACT Slammiversary IMPACT

A former WWE star has won their first piece of championship gold since departing the company at IMPACT’s Slammiversary PPV event (July 15).

Trinity Fatu, (FKA Naomi in WWE) went into her Knockouts Women’s Championship match undefeated since joining IMPACT in April this year, however, she came up against the woman with the second-longest accumulative reign with the title in the company’s history, Deonna Purrazzo.

Trinity and Purrazzo had spent much of the build to the match on the same side, competing in numerous tag bouts on IMPACT TV, however, once the bell rang at Slammiversary all that washed away as the two put on an excellent back and forth contest.

However, it was Trinity that continued her momentum, shockingly inflicting Purrazzo her first-ever submission loss via the Starstruck, ending the 90 day reign of The Virtuosa.

The win marks an incredible achievement for Trinity, who missed almost an entire year of action following her and Mercedes Mone’s WWE walkout in May 2022.

And now, similarly to Mone, it seems that gamble has paid off as she captured major championship gold for the first time outside of WWE.

Elsewhere on Slammiversary, another former WWE star, who was recently released from the company made their shock return to IMPACT.
