Triple H Reacts To AJ Styles ‘Pestering’ For WrestleMania Match

Speaking on a media call today, Triple H revealed his reaction to AJ Styles ‘pestering’ him for a match against him at WrestleMania.

Styles has also made it public that he wants the match, and Triple H has now said he’d love to, but his current schedule as an executive doesn’t allow for it.

He said:

“(AJ Styles) pestered me every time I saw him. He would ask me about it and ask me about my schedule. Getting ready for WrestleMania is a different thing. The older you get, the harder it gets. Doing this once a year or once every couple of years is not an easy task. You try to stay in the best shape you can but that’s not WrestleMania shape, it’s a different thing. When he first came to me, I said, ‘I’m not going to tell you no and I’d love to work with you and at this point you can carry me to something. I’d love it’. The personal, athlete, and performer side of it would love nothing more. The reality is; I’m not going to have the bandwidth or availability schedule-wise to pull it off. He would come to me every week and say, ‘How is that bandwidth coming?’. I’m flattered and humbled by it. I wish I had the bandwidth to do it. I’m not saying I won’t be able to do it in the coming year if it’s right and everyone believes it should be done. I’m at the point where in-ring stuff is (a) bonus.”

Instead of a match with Triple H, Styles will be teaming with Omos at WrestleMania this year to challenge New Day for the Raw Tag Team Championship.
