Triple H Says When WWE Will Start Testing People For Coronavirus

Ahead of NXT TakeOver: In Your House this weekend, Triple H spoke with the media about a variety of topics, including this weekend’s show, the re-signing of Drake Maverick and more. However, unsurprisingly, the majority of questions were somewhat related to the Coronavirus.

On the call, Triple H was asked if WWE is officially testing the talent that enter the Performance Center for COVID-19, and here’s what “The Game” had to say in response:

“So the testing that we do, we have medical experts on our team…they work with CDC and the government to determine what is the best approach for us to take to ensure the safety and the wellness of our performers, and that is what we do. That is working with the local and federal government. When you begin to talk about various types of testing, and there is a lot of that thrown around, the accuracy of those tests becomes questionable…We need to do what we’re being told to do by the medical experts, and once that widespread testing that is accurate becomes available, we will do so. But the accuracy of those tests has to be there first. But in the meantime, our medical protocols are extensive, and most importantly, they’ve worked.”

Unsurprisingly, Triple H didn’t officially say whether or not WWE is testing their wrestlers for the disease, but it can be implied from what he said that the company is not actually testing people for COVID-19 when they enter the Performance Center.

This is certainly not ideal. We know that many people can carry the disease but be asymptomatic, meaning that only not letting people in if they have a fever is not the most effective or safe way of doing this.  Although expensive, the way that AEW has tested EVERYONE at their shows is definitely the best way to do things and what WWE should have been doing from the start.
