Since WrestleMania XXX, the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal has been a staple of WrestleMania, with it allowing the opportunity for the entire WWE roster to be showcased on the show.
That has changed in recent years, as the match did not feature on WrestleMania 36, and was on the SmackDown show prior to WrestleMania last year.
Per Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears as though the Battle Royal will be remaining on the go home show to WrestleMania again this year.
However, the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal is currently set to take place on the WrestleMania show itself. Meltzer said:
Men’s and Women’s Battle Royals for everyone else on the roster not listed. Right now the plan for the men’s Andre the Giant Battle Royal is not to be at WrestleMania, but that could change. Right now it’s either 3/28 Raw in Pittsburgh or more likely the 4/1 Smackdown in Dallas. The women’s match is still listed for one of the Mania shows.
Last year’s Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal was won by Jey Uso, while the WrestleMania Women’s Battle Royal did not take place at all.
The two battle royals have led to several of the biggest upsets in WrestleMania history, which you can read about here.
