Update On Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE Status Following NXT Appearance

Main roster WWE stars were featured all throughout the night on last night’s episode of WWE NXT, with Sonya Deville, Rhea Ripley, Raquel Rodriguez, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Kevin Owens all advertised for the show.

They weren’t the only NXT stars to appear on the show though, as Shinsuke Nakamura made a surprise appearance on the show as the chosen opponent of Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, picking up the win on his return to the brand.

Nakamura’s appearance came after the former two-time NXT Champion had rarely been featured on SmackDown since failing to capture the Intercontinental Championship from Gunther back in July.

Per PWInsider, Nakamura is slated to make more appearances for the NXT brand in the coming weeks. It is still not known if he has returned to the brand full-time, akin to Apollo Crews right now, or if he will simply work a programme for a few weeks, like Dolph Ziggler and AJ Styles earlier this year.

NXT star Cameron Grimes finds himself in a similar situation, with him reportedly slated for more Raw appearances in the coming weeks despite still being on the NXT roster.
