Update On Ticket Sales Ahead Of June 24 AEW Collision AEW

Last week saw the launch of the new AEW Collision show from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois.

The show featured the return to AEW of CM Punk, who made two appearances on the show, first to open up with a promo, before coming back out for the six-man tag team main event.

While the tickets for the show in the United Center were a hot ticket, AEW had seen some struggles with shifting tickets to the other Collision shows in Canada prior to the show’s launch.

In an update from WrestleTix, AEW has managed to shift more tickets to tonight’s Collision following the announced card, with the show now having 6,028 tickets distributed.

There had been quite a big increase on all Collision shows in general.

One big reason for the issues with getting Collision tickets shifted at first is that AEW has already had tickets for Dynamites and the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on sale in the same areas and sometimes even the exact same venues for quite some time.

For example, next Thursday’s Collision in Hamilton was doing very poorly due to it being the night after Dynamite in the exact same venue, but even that show’s ticket sales basically doubled after the first Collision took place.

Tonight’s show is set to act as the go-home show for tomorrow night’s Forbidden Door event.

Tonight’s Collision will see Hiroshi Tanahashi take on Swerve Strickland in a first-time-ever match, as well as CM Punk’s second match back in AEW, when he teams with FTR and Ricky Starks to face Bullet Club Gold’s Jay White, Juice Robinson and the Gunns.

AEW has since announced a TNT Championship address by Christian Cage on tonight’s show.
