Update On WWE Stars’ Rumoured ‘Backstage Heat’ WWE

There has been a rumour killer on rumours of WWE stars having backstage heat in the company.

This week’s episode of SmackDown featured a tag team gauntlet match, with the winning team going on to challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the titles in two weeks on SmackDown in London.

One of the teams in the Gauntlet was Hit Row, who were only in the match for less than a minute before Top Dolla got hit with a Brogue Kick and pinned by Sheamus.

Following the show, rumours emerged online about Hit Row, more specifically Top Dolla, having backstage heat in the company.

However, in an update from Fightful Select (subscription required), there is nothing out of the ordinary with Hit Row’s view from WWE management despite there not being significant creative plans for them.

A source close to WWE creative said that Hit Row, along with various other returns, were rehired to help provide roster depth and prevent the rematch-heavy shows that were happening weekly during the end of the Vince McMahon era.

Hit Row returned to WWE last August after being released in November 2021.

The gauntlet match ended up being won by Pretty Deadly, who will challenge Owens and Zayn for the titles on SmackDown in London in two weeks.
