In the latest episode of ‘I bet it’s really fun to work for Vince McMahon’, WWE’s chairman has called for an entire rewrite of tonight’s SmackDown show, according to both Ryan Satin and Dave Meltzer.
Hearing from sources that Vince McMahon called in the SmackDown creative team to totally rewrite the show today
— Ryan Satin (@ryansatin) July 30, 2019
This comes just a week after he decided to do the same thing just four hours before SmackDown hit the air.
It would seem that the New Day vs. O.C. six-man tag match was brought about through this, as Big E and Xavier Woods were set to face Elias and Drew McIntyre in a two-on-two bout until today.
To give the Devil his due, I’d actually rather see the six-man so fair enough.
UPDATE: This has since been changed to Kofi vs. Styles one-on-one.
Jerry Lawler’s ‘King’s Court’ segment with Trish Stratus and Finn Balor vs. Dolph Ziggler are still listed on WWE.com as of this writing.
We will have live coverage of tonight’s show here at WrestleTalk.com.
