Many WWE stars throughout history have been rehired by the company just a short while after they were let go.
Former WWE star The Boogeyman may hold the record for being rehired however, as former WWE star Rene Dupree spoke on his Cafe de Rene podcast, recalling a story of John Laurinaitis firing Boogeyman, only for Vince to rehire him six hours later.
He explained:
“Did you ever hear the story about Boogeyman, when he got hired? He got fired in the morning at 9 A.M. and then rehired at 3 O’clock in the afternoon the same day.
“You remember Johnny Ace? So, Johnny didn’t like [The Boogeyman] and then, I guess he thought he had enough power to be able to fire someone like [The Boogeyman]. And then when Vince found out that [The Boogeyman] was fired, he made Johnny Ace call him up and rehire him. I think with a raise, actually.”
The Boogeyman has made several cameo appearances for the company in recent years, and recently signed a legend’s contract with the company.
Many former WWE stars have been rehired in the past year since Triple H took over as the head of creative in the company.
