What Happened During AEW Revolution’s Main Event AEW

Here’s what happened during the main event of tonight’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view, featuring an appearance from Christian Cage.

The main event of tonight’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view event saw Jon Moxley defend the AEW World Championship against Cope in a match that had been brewing since Cope returned at Worlds End in December.

However, shenanigans took place towards the end of the match, when referee Bryce Remsburg took a knock, which brought out Wheeler Yuta.

Yuta laid out Cope with a Busaiku Knee, aiding Moxley in the match, before Jay White appeared to fight off Yuta.

However, White attempted to hit Moxley with the briefcase containing the AEW World Championship, but Moxley ducked, with White instead accidentally hitting Cope, before he and Wheeler brawled to the back.

Later in the match, as Cope had Moxley beat, Christian Cage pulled the referee out of the ring, before he officially cashed in his contract, making the match a Triple Threat.

In the end, Christian’s cash in was not enough, with Moxley choking him out to retain the AEW World Championship.

Moxley’s victory sets up an impending defence against Swerve Strickland, who defeated Ricochet earlier in the night to be crowned the number one contender for the title.

The show closed with Swerve appearing from the crowd, nailing a Swerve Stomp onto Moxley and security guards in the crowd.
