Will Ospreay AEW Injury Recovery Update

Will Ospreay AEW Injury Recovery Update AEW

An update has emerged regarding Will Ospreay’s recovery from neck surgery, over two months on from his last appearance on AEW programming.

Ahead of the 10-man Lights Out Steel Cage Match at AEW Forbidden Door 2025, Will Ospreay announced that he would have to undergo neck surgery after the event due to “a few” herniated discs pushing against his spinal cord, resulting in nerve issues.

The former AEW International Champion underwent that surgery in September, and took to social media to inform his fans that the procedure was a success and state that his road to recovery would be “long” but worth it.

With six weeks passing since his announcement a new update has emerged courtesy of the Saminder Singh of the Body Alignment Clinic in Rainham, Essex.

In a post on the clinic’s Instagram page, Singh shared that Ospreay is “doing great” in his recovery and is on the right road, despite there still being “some way to go”.

Singh also shared a date of January 2026 along with a rocket emoji, potentially suggesting this as a targeted return date for the “Aerial Assassin”.

The post reads:

AEW Allstar Will Ospreay 6 weeks post op and doing great!

Still some way to go with but we’re on the right road.

Don’t Try This At Home!

Ospreay was attacked by Jon Moxley and Claudio Castagnoli of the Death Riders after the Lights Out Steel Cage Match at AEW Forbidden Door, resulting in the 32-year-old being carried out of London’s O2 Arena on a stretcher.

We will provide further updates on Ospreay’s status as more information becomes available and continue to wish him a speedy and safe recovery.
