Tony Khan has revealed a top NJPW star that was set to appear on ROH Supercard of Honor.
NJPW just finished up their annual New Japan Cup with SANADA coming out on top of the single-elimination tournament.
However, this year’s tournament was not without its casualties. Following his win in the second round against Mark Davis, Will Ospreay suffered a right shoulder injury.
This forced the former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion to forfeit his spot in the New Japan Cup and he was pulled from his scheduled bout against Speedball Mike Bailey at IMPACT x NJPW Multiverse United – Only The Strong Survives.
During today’s ROH Supercard of Honor media call, Tony Khan was asked about Ospreay. Khan revealed that Ospreay would have appeared on this Friday’s card if he was not injured.
This makes sense with the relationship between AEW and NJPW as well as other New Japan stars like Zack Sabre Jr. and Aussie Open already appearing on ROH TV on Honor Club.
On Wednesday night, Tony Khan announced that former IWGP Heavyweight Champion Hiroshi Tanahashi will appear on ROH Supercard of Honor in a bout against Daniel Garcia.
