Major World Championship Match Announced For IMPACT Multiverse United 2 IMPACT

A major world championship match has been announced for IMPACT Multiverse United 2 next month.

At Slammiversary, Alex Shelley retained his IMPACT World Championship in the main event against Nick Aldis, and we now know who is next in line for a title shot.

Today, IMPACT Wrestling shared a video of Shelley issuing a challenge to New Japan Pro Wrestling’s ace Hiroshi Tanahashi for a match on the show.

Multiverse United is the annual IMPACT x NJPW pay-per-view, with the first edition of the pay-per-view taking place back on March 30, 2023.

Shelley reacted to laying out the challenge to Tanahashi, saying:

Few people who I respect more than my old mentor.

I love you, Tana san, or aishitemasu. Let’s wrestle.

The main event of the first Multiverse United saw Tanahashi defeat ‘Speedball’ Mike Bailey.

Shelley won his first IMPACT World Championship at Against All Odds on June 9, where he defeated Steve Maclin.
