Scrapped plans for a segment featuring two WWE Hall of Famers for WrestleMania 40 Night Two on Sunday has now been revealed.
A number of wrestling legends were featured on WWE programming during WrestleMania weekend, from appearances at the actual Show of Shows, to returns at Friday’s Hall of Fame ceremony.
WWE paid tribute to the seven names in the Hall of Fame Class of 2024 during Sunday’s (April 7) WrestleMania 40 Night Two show.
Per Fightful Select, in a WrestleMania Night Two scoops thread, Trish Stratus and Lita’s involvement in the Hall of Fame segment was nixed.
This year’s Hall of Fame class was headlined by Paul Heyman, who also appeared later on in the night to accompany Roman Reigns to the ring for his WWE Undisputed Universal Title match against Cody Rhodes.
Cody Rhodes ultimately finished his story, pinning Roman Reigns to end his historic championship reign, following interference from a number of notable names.
Not only did Jey Uso and Seth Rollins appear to neutralise members of the Bloodline, both John Cena and The Undertaker made surprise returns to even the odds against Cody Rhodes.
John Cena took Solo Sikoa out of the equation before getting dropped by The Rock, leading to The Undertaker literally appearing in the ring to take out the Final Boss.
Hilarious footage has emerged from Undertaker’s WWE return, which you can read more about right here.
