A potential major WWE and AEW signing has bid an emotional farewell to their promotion following their final match on February 11.
At NJPW’s New Beginning event, the promotion said goodbye to two of their biggest stars, as both Will Ospreay and Kazuchika Okada competed for the final time on their existing deals.
While Will Ospreay signed his AEW contract back in November, the same can’t currently be said for Okada, who is reportedly the subject of significant interest from both of AEW and WWE.
Despite us not yet knowing what is in store for The Rainmaker, it can at least be said that he received a fittingly amazing sendoff in NJPW after his final match at New Beginning.
Facing off against newly named NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi, Okada would end his near-two decade run in the company on a high as he defeated his long-time rival.
After the match concluded Okada was visibly emotional, kissing the NJPW logo on the ring mat as fans inside Osaka’s EDION Arena chanted his name.
You can view Okada’s tearful sendoff down below.
It has been a few weeks without a significant update on Okada’s big decision, however, now that he is officially done in NJPW perhaps we will see some movement in the coming weeks.
