Details on the backstage reaction within WWE to Raw star Kevin Owens re-signing with the company have now emerged.
As per Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Owens’ new contract will be for three years, with Owens set to be making between $2-3 million per year.
Fightful Select (subscription required) has revealed that responses from WWE talent and staff about Owens and WWE coming to terms on a new deal have been ‘unanimously positive’.
Per the report, sources indicated that Owens is a respected name within the locker-room, with one source spoken to arguing that Owens deserves an excellent deal for ‘any number of reasons’.
It was also noted that backstage sources were ‘pretty sure’ that Owens was going to re-sign with WWE as of three weeks ago.
Kevin Owens recently confirmed that he has chosen to stay with WWE, outlining his reasons for re-signing.
