Last night’s NXT was a pretty spectacular show, packed with great matches and exciting returns.
It is no surprise that WWE went all out for last night’s show, with it being the first that went head-to-head with a debuting AEW on TNT.
It appears as if NXT will be continuing in the same vein next week, as two big matches have been announced for the show.
First, it was revealed that Drew Gulak will be defending his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Lio Rush. This comes after Rush defeated Oney Lorcan to become number one contender two weeks ago.

The second match booked for the show next week is KUSHIDA vs. WALTER, following a few weeks of the pair feuding.
The match is not for WALTER’s WWE United Kingdom Championship. Perhaps the title match is being saved for NXT TakeOver: War Games III next month.
This match will be WALTER’s first inside an NXT ring.

On last night’s show, Velveteen Dream challenged Roderick Strong to a North American Championship match, so another title match could be added to the 10/09 show in the coming days.
