Current Champion Warns WWE Star Their ‘Day Of Reckoning Is Coming’

A current champion has sent an ominous warning to a WWE star following their recent actions on this week’s NXT (February 13).

After turning his back on long-time tag partner and best friend Trick Williams at NXT Vengeance Day, Carmelo Hayes has spent the last few weeks further establishing himself as the brand’s top heel once again.

With Trick out the picture for now, Melo has turned his attention to NXT Champion Ilja Dragunov directing some choice words his way after defeating Joe Gacy on this week’s NXT.

Dragunov however, was not there to respond to the comments face-to-face but made sure to do so with an ominous message on social media afterwards.

Taking to Twitter, Dragunov said:.

@Carmelo_WWE It’s easy to speak about me without fear when you know I’m home in Germany recovering and spending time with my son.

But one day soon we’ll see if you have the guts to speak that way to my face.

Your day of reckoning is coming Melo.

We don’t yet know how Melo’s pursuit of becoming a two-time NXT Champion will play out, especially with a target on his back when Trick Williams makes his return to TV.

NXT’s next big Premium Live Event – Stand & Deliver will take place WrestleMania weekend on April 6 from Philadelphia’s Wells Fargo Center.
