WWE’s CM Punk Pays Tribute To Retiring Former Rival WWE

WWE’s CM Punk has taken to social media to pay tribute to former rival Homicide, who is set to compete in his final ever match today (March 20).

After a career spanning almost three entire decades, Homicide will wrestle his final match tonight for independent promotion Outlaw Wrestling – teaming with Bull James against Mike Santana and Afa Jr.

A legendary figure in Ring of Honor throughout the 2000s, Homicide has been receiving tributes from the wrestling world ahead of his final match, including from former LAX stablemate Eddie Kingston and former promotion TNA Wrestling.

Now, another important name from Homicide’s career has taken to social media to pay tribute to the former ROH World Champion, with WWE’s CM Punk posting several images of himself and Homicide to his Instagram stories.

As can be seen below, Punk posted three images of himself, Homicide and fellow ROH alum Samoa Joe, along with the following messages:

Homicide. One of a kind. Thinking about my friend and his career today.

He will leave his fingerprints all over the wrestling landscape.

I’m there in spirit my friend! ❤️

Punk and Homicide faced off several times throughout the early to mid 2000s across various promotions including ROH and PWG among others.

Ahead of his final match Homicide revealed via social media that he is retiring from in-ring competition due to doctors finding a cyst on his brain.

Posting to Facebook, Homicide wrote:

Can’t believe I saying goodbye, not only a job the passion the sport of pro wrestling.

(Reason) I’m leaving cause I went to my Doctor and found cyst my brain. Had it for months getting worst.

My vision, speech is bad. Cause the hard hitting getting knock out and hitting a plane to travel.

Thank you for your support, this not a goodbye. This is I see you later.

We at WrestleTalk wish Homicide all the best in his retirement.
