The next collaboration for WWE has been announced, with SmackDown on August 15 to play host to the partnership.
Having originally run from 1997 to 2010, the animated series King of the Hill was recently revived for a new season on Hulu.
With a huge campaign behind the revived series, it has now been revealed that the August 15 episode of WWE SmackDown will be part of the initiative.
According to Variety, the upcoming episode of SmackDown will see “a custom wrestling mat” featuring King of the Hill signage.
There will also be digital signage throughout the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts as it plays host to the Friday night show.
Sheamus and Johnny Gargano will also be involved as they “create videos inspired by moments from the show.”
King of the Hill was creative by the mind behind Beavis and Butthead, Mike Judge, along with Greg Daniels, who adapted The Office for US television.
The series follows the antics of the Hill family, led by Hank, as they navigate their everyday lives in Arlen, Texas and would see itself nominated for multiple awards through its history.
In 1999, the series was the winner of a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Animated Program (For Programming One Hour or Less).
The show would follow this victory with an Outstanding Voice-Over Performance at the ceremony in 2002, with Pamela Adlon winning for her portrayal of Bobby Hill, Clark Peters and Chane Wassanasong in the episode “Bobby Goes Nuts”.
