WWE Hall Of Famer Reveals Current Contract Status

A WWE Hall of Famer has revealed his current contract status, clearing up an assumption about his standing with the company.

Mark Henry parted ways with WWE back in 2021, heading to AEW in that year and continuing under contract as a commentary team member and coach until his contract expired in May 2024.

Currently heard on WWE Radio, Mark Henry has revealed that he isn’t under a Legends contract.

Speaking to ITR Wrestling, Henry addressed the assumption he works for WWE, clarifying:

“I’m not on a legends deal. I do not have a legends deal; I don’t know why people assume. I do not work for WWE.

“I do WWE Radio through SiriusXM. That’s pretty much the only connection.

“I have a nostalgia deal, where I allow them to use my name to make action figures and do video games and that kind of stuff. But I don’t work for them.”

Henry would also reveal that he is mentoring “25 wrestlers”, guiding the unnamed stars at no cost, describing it as his “way of supporting the industry and helping the industry to be better.”

A WWE Nostalgia Contract?

Mark Henry was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2018, having been a World Heavyweight Champion, ECW Champion and European Champion.

The “Strongest Man in the World” would compete in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 33 in 2017 before moving to a producer role, with his final match taking place the following year at WWE Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, competing in the titular match.

In March of last year, it was reported that Henry had signed a WWE Legends contract, with Ringside Collectables revealing that detail, along with news of a new action figure. It isn’t unusual for WWE to create action figures of legacy stars, or feature them in video games. With Henry clarifying his “nostalgia deal” status, it’s likely there’ll be more to see of the star in the action figure and digital markets.

Back in late 2021, the Hall of Famer ‘Superstar’ Billy Graham announced that he was under a WWE ‘nostalgia contract‘ with that deal lasting five years. That deal is likely to come to an end in December of this year.
