WWE Delays Championship Match

WWE Delays Championship Match WWE

WWE delayed a championship match after an opponent attacked an NXT champion before the match could even begin.

Earlier in tonight’s pre-taped episode of NXT, NXT Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria was set to make her entrance for a match against Xia Li.

However mid-pose on the ramp, Li attacked the champ and bedlam ensued with concern as to whether or not Valkyria could compete.

In the end, the champion was cleared to compete and went on to successfully defend her title later in the show, actually as the main event rather than the second match as was originally “planned” (although obviously the angle was planned all along).

Elsewhere on tonight’s episode of WWE NXT, an update on an ongoing scandal that has rocked Chase U.

Also next week on NXT (November 28) there is set to be a big match for a unique opportunity as Wes Lee takes on three main roster stars.

In a match against three former NXT North American Champions in Cameron Grimes, Big Bronson Reed and Johnny Gargano, Lee will have to win in order to get a shot at the current champ Dominik Mysterio at NXT Deadline.

NXT Deadline is the next premium live event set for December 9, 2023, at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
