Though this segment was not in the ring, a backstage interview, or selfie promo, it was still a key part of last night’s show. And while it could be argued that this could be classed in the tag team division, its implications have a greater impact in the midcard and possibly even main event scene. Backstage, Lana interrupted Rusev and Aiden English’s conversation, asking to speak with her husband alone. She told Rusev that Aiden was holding him back from being a star. If this really is WWE‘s way of killing the Rusev Day act, it will either lead to a monstrous single’s push for Rusev or completely bury both guys. Hopefully, this is peacefully resolved and Lana simply slots in as the third member/manager for them.
