WWE Files To Trademark Name Of Another Former Star

WWE have filed to trademark the name of another former star according to recent filings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Recently, WWE filed to trademark the name Zack Ryder following the previous lapse in trademark.

Matt Cardona had previously attempted to secure the trademark to his former WWE name but “let it go” when WWE fought his attempt.

Now, in an application filing dated February 23, WWE has filed for the trademark of “Ezekiel Jackson”.

The listing shows the trademark would be:

“intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”

Ezekiel Jackson was signed to WWE under a developmental contract in 2007 and would make his main roster debut in 2008.

During his time in WWE he held the WWE Intercontinental Champion and was the final winner of the ECW Championship.

He would depart from WWE in 2014 and announce his retirement in 2015.
