Latest On Gable Steveson’s Wrestling Career Ahead Of WWE Debut WWE

Gable Steveson signed with WWE in September 2021 and is yet to make his in-ring debut with a new update revealing his plans.

It was previously reported that Steveson, who was added to the Raw roster during the 2021 WWE Draft but wasn’t included in the recent 2023 draft, was going to return to amateur competition.

Further details on Steveson’s plans were revealed by Flowrestling who stated that Steveson “wants to return to NCAA competition next year.”

The report goes on to state that Steveson “has to sort out scheduling details with the WWE before his return is official but if all goes according to plan, he will be back on the NCAA mat next season.”

Steveson is an Olympic Gold Medalist for the United States and has won national titles for the Gophers in 2021 and 2022.

Dave Meltzer also provided further insight into Steveson’s future prospects in WWE on Wrestling Observer Radio, saying:

“I remember, like January of 2022, I was told that Gable Steveson and Bron Breakker were gonna be the two big superstars. And Bron Breakker has done very well, and he was on Raw tonight for the first time, and certainly hinted that he might be on more, and I’m sure he will be sometime soon.

“And Gable Steveson did one angle on Raw and we’ve never heard anything since, and the longer you’re away after the Olympics, the momentum that he would have had in the real world coming off the Olympics… the Olympics were 2021 so that’s a couple of years ago.

“I remember before Bron Breakker started, the three guys I was told to watch that were going to be future superstars because they work so hard in the gym and they’re so naturally picking it up were Rick Steiner’s son (Breakker), Gable Steveson’s brother (Damon Kemp), and the guy who is now Julius Creed.”

The Wrestling Observer also notes that Steveson is planning to use his final year of NCAA eligibility.

In a previous interview, Steveson had said that his debut would take place shortly after WrestleMania 39.

Steveson retired from NCAA and Olympic wrestling, though is clearly intent on making his comeback.
