WWE Crown Jewel will see Solo Sikoa make a rare entry in the record books when he faces John Cena on November 4, 2023.
Cena made his WWE return on September 1 and reminded us that he hadn’t won a televised singles match since 2018 during a promo on the October 20 episode of SmackDown.
Solo Sikoa of the Bloodline answered the challenge with the match being set for WWE Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
WWE Stats has noted on Twitter that this marks Sikoa’s first singles pay-per-view/Premium Live Event match.
Furthermore, the tweet lists the very short list of other WWE stars who had their first singles PPV/PLE match against Cena.
The full list, including Sikoa, is as follows:
2004: René Duprée
2004: Jesús
2009: Sheamus
2010: Wade Barrett
2012: John Laurinaitis
2015: Kevin Owens
2023: Solo Sikoa
The Bloodline will also feature elsewhere on the Crown Jewel card with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns facing LA Knight.
Knight has recently shared his thoughts on Reigns, saying that “everyone is sick” of him as champion.
It has recently been reported that Cena is already in Saudi Arabia ahead of this weekend’s Premium Live Event.
In a recent interview, Cena named Brock Lesnar as “extremely underrated, even though he’s in that conversation of the greatest of all time.”
