Former WWE Star Names Dream Opponents For ‘Unlikely’ Return WWE

A former WWE star has named their dream opponents should a return to the company materialise in the future.

Mr Kennedy has previously discussed his interest in return to the WWE, where he spent four years from 2005 to 2009.

He conceded, however, that the chances of a return may have been hampered by saying “really sh*tty things on the way out the door.”

Speaking on UnSKripted by Sportskeeda, the former United States Champion opened up on dream opponents for a return, saying:

“My absolute dream opponent of all time hands down would be Steve Austin.

“I was so happy when Kevin Owens got to do that a few years ago. What an awesome thing. That would be my dream opponent.”

While Stone Cold Steve Austin has ruled out a full-time return to WWE in any capacity, he has hinted at a possible match at WrestleMania 40.

With an Austin match unlikely to take place, Anderson looked at the current roster for dream opponents, adding:

“I definitely would love to wrestle Seth [Rollins], I have actually wrestled AJ [Styles] a lot when I was in Impact Wrestling, when I was with TNA.”

He would focus on Styles further, concluding:

“I still say for my money, AJ Styles is the best wrestler in the world. He’s so versatile, he can work with anybody.”

Following his release in 2009, Anderson kept in touch with Paul Heyman and recently discussed his relationship with the influential figure.

Anderson has also been training Gable Steveson and has spoken about the US Olympic Gold Medalist’s progress.
