Former WWE Star Recalls Losing Endorsement To Kevin Hart Kevin Hart Nation

Former WWE star Dirty Dango (fka Fandango) has revealed he was at one point in talks with the Fandango movie ticketing platform about a potential endorsement.

The former NXT Tag Team Champion wrestled as ‘Fandango’ for nine years ahead of his WWE release in 2021.

Speaking with WrestlingNews.co, Dango recalled his former ring name, noting that he’d hear a lot of jokes about the Fandango movie app:

“Let me ask you a question; do you think Vincent Kennedy McMahon knows what the Fandango app is? There’s no way in hell — we were probably 28, 29 (years old) at the time I debuted, and I mean we as the locker room.

“Most of us for FCW, we all know what the Fandango app is. Everyone in the locker room is like, ‘Dude, are you going to throw out movie tickets when you come out?’

“I think even if he knew there was an app, I think he’d still be like ‘Ahh, I still want to use it. I like it.’”

Dango then revealed that he was actually in contact with Fandango at one point, before Kevin Hart ultimately got the endorsement:

“Little side note, fun fact — I was in contact with Fandango, the company. I believe they’re located in (Las) Vegas or California.

“We set up a meeting to possibly do an endorsement with me being the spokesperson for the company. They’re like, ‘Yeah we’ll get back to you.’

“Then Kevin Hart (got the job). I was at the movies one day and the opening montages, the previews come on and it’s Kevin Hart cutting a promo for Fandango.

“I’m like yeah, they went with a little bit bigger of a star. (laughs)

“But you know what? They gave me a code, I went to the movies for free for a year. So that was my (prize). We’re on good terms.”

Dango recently revealed that Vince McMahon ‘didn’t get’ another popular gimmick.
