Former WWE Name Buries ‘Mega Hardcore Mark’ Tony Khan AEW

A former WWE name has given his damning opinion of AEW’s Tony Khan in the aftermath of attempts to smooth things over.

AAA booker Konnan had, reportedly, been in attendance at the AEW Dark tapings in Orlando, Florida in an attempt to smooth over some of the damage done by FTR losing the AAA tag team championships to Dragon Lee and Dralistico at the Night of Champions in December.

Following this title change, Dragon Lee revealed he was heading to WWE following the victory, something of which Tony Khan was reportedly aware, the result of which caused issues between both companies.

Now, Konnan has shared his less-than-flattering opinion of Tony Khan on his K100 with Konnan & Disco podcast, saying:

“He obviously wants to make money. I mean, that’s what he’s all about.”

“If he doesn’t make money, the network’s going to cut him off or his dad may say ‘f*ck this,’ you know what I’m saying?”

“[Khan’s] obviously trying to make money.

“His problem is [that] he’s a mega hardcore mark which there’s a niche for that.

“He probably thinks there’s more people than there actually [is] and he caters to them and nobody else. I think that’s a huge problem.”

Konnan would describe his current relationship with the AEW owner “alright” though it’s still unknown how the mission to patch things up at the AEW Dark taping went.
