What WWE Is Looking For In Performance Center Recruits Revealed

It was previously reported that WWE would be making a massive change to its Performance Center recruitment policy, focusing on younger talent and “good sized” recruits.

We now have more information in this new edict, as in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer writes:

When it comes to the tryouts, the feeling now is they want talent in their early 20s, with 27 being the age they are calling the oldest they want, and have told others 26 (there are always going to be people who will be exceptions), men should be 6-foot and at least 220 pounds (general rule, if someone is an exceptionally good athlete or good looking in some way but that is what they’ve told people who look for talent) and there is heavy emphasis on wanting more young African-Americans and Hispanics in the US as well as greater ethnic diversity as shown by wanting talent to market in places like China, India and the Middle East, since they are feel they are the future of big money media deals.

This new policy appears to somewhat already be in place, as the last batch of Performance Center recruits was an international class, featuring NXT’s Sarray and others.

There was, however, an influx of cruiserweights, which it seems the company is now going to be holding back on in favor of bigger athletes.
