WWE Makes Big Change To Cody Rhodes Championship Reign WWE

WWE has seemingly made a big change to Cody Rhodes’ championship reign as the moniker of the title he is holding was confirmed.

When Cody Rhodes made his entrance on tonight’s WWE SmackDown, he was given a big announcement by Mike Rome.

Notably, Rhodes was introduced as the ‘Undisputed WWE Champion’, seemingly dropping the ‘Universal’ title designation.

In the in-ring segment, Rhodes discussed both of the big Triple Threat matches on tonight’s WWE SmackDown to determine who would face off to gain a title shot.

One match features LA Knight vs. Bobby Lashley vs. Santos Escobar whereas the other will be Rey Mysterio vs. Kevin Owens vs. AJ Styles.

The winner of the two matches will face-off in a match next week to determine the number one contender to Cody’s championship at Backlash in France on May 4.

Elsewhere in the promo, Rhodes also quoted Brandi Rhodes’ famous AEW moment, mentioning that when The Rock appeared on WWE Raw, he had thought ‘Who the hell told you it was open mic night, bitch?!’ – He then apologized for swearing.

He also shared that what The Rock had given him was a gift that Cody had previously given to Rock, a moment which certainly will be discussed further at a later date.

In the promo, Cody Rhodes also ended by saying that he was the ‘Undisputed WWE Champion’ which was then reiterated by Corey Graves as well.
