According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, a key match, with major TakeOver implications, that will take place on next week’s episode of NXT, had to be change due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
Meltzer noted on the post-NXT episode of his show that next week’s singles match between Roderick Strong and Danny Burch was actually set to be a tag team match pitting Undisputed Era against Oney Lorcan and Burch.
Dave Meltzer noted that because of Bobby Fish’s absence due to a COVID-related issue, NXT had to change their plans and have Strong and Burch go one-on-one on next week’s show, which was taped yesterday.
This was just one of many reported changes following an supposed outbreak of COVID-19 within NXT, which was reported by Jon Alba and Sean Ross Sapp earlier this week. You can read more about that story by clicking here.
WWE/NXT isn’t the only promotion dealing with the serious COVID issue at the moment, as the aforementioned Jon Alba and Sean Ross Sapp are reporting that several people within AEW have tested positive for the virus recently.
