It’s being reported that WWE is negotiating a settlement following a recent trademark dispute regarding the use of the ‘Stone Cold’ phrase.
As we covered on the site at the time, WWE had filed a complaint against Stone Cold LLC, which is a soda company headed by NFL player Chris Jones, because the phrase Stone Cold is so associated with WWE obviously because of Steve Austin.
Stone Cold LLC filed to trademark “Stone Cold Jones”, which WWE filed a complaint against on September 14.
On October 23, Stone Cold LLC responded claiming that there was no confusion and felt there wasn’t an issue.
As noted by Heel By Nature, WWE filed to suspend the trademark proceedings on December 15. WWE and Stone Cold LLC now have until January 15 to come to a settlement.
