Top WWE Star Reveals He Nixed New Theme Song After Recent Return WWE

Former multi-time WWE World Champion Randy Orton has revealed that he nixed new theme song after his recent return.

At WWE Survivor Series 2023, Randy Orton made his return to the company for the first time in nearly two years in the Men’s War Games Match.

Fans were pleased to hear the signature “Voices” theme song bring “The Legend Killer” to the ring for his return, but this could have gone differently.

As previously reported, WWE considered a change from the “Voices” theme to a new song ahead of the December 8, 2023 episode of SmackDown.

Ahead of a report on the music composer Def Rebel, Fightful Select’s Corey Brennan joined the WWE NXT review to reveal that Randy Orton nixed the new theme song minutes after his return. He said:

“I’m seeing my Twitter absolutely blow up because I said that I was doing I was working on a Def Rebel report for later this week.

“I’m still working on it, but the one thing I can confirm now is that when Randy Orton returned, they considered a change in his theme music.

“At the time, I couldn’t find out who produced it. But it was supposed to be a Def Rebel-produced remix of Voices. I saw someone say on Twitter as well, Randy probably turned around and said ‘that doesn’t ‘work for me, brother’. That’s essentially what happened.

“Randy was not having that theme. It was Randy, Triple H and Michael Hayes. And within 10 minutes (of it being played) in the arena one of my sources of went, ‘Yeah, that’s not being used.'”

Randy Orton last wrestled in a loss to Logan Paul in a three-way match alongside Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 40.
