NJPW has since announced that Riddle will make his debut for the promotion at the January 13 Battle in the Valley event in San Jose, California.

Per Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Riddle is slated to wrestle during NJPW’s February tour in Japan.

While it’s currently unclear which shows Riddle will appear on, the tour will feature several Road To The New Beginning shows, ahead of The New Beginning in Osaka on February 11, and The New Beginning in Sapporo on February 23 and 24.

Riddle’s upcoming tour with NJPW will mark the first time he has wrestled in Japan.

Matt Riddle was released from his WWE contract during the September 2023 round of cuts.

Another wrestler who was let go by WWE in September 2023 was Dolph Ziggler, who made his NJPW debut at the January 4 Wrestle Kingdom 18 event, brawling with IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion David Finlay.
