WWE Star Felt They Were ‘On Their Own’ On The Roster WWE

WWE star Nia Jax has commented on her first run with WWE, noting that for a while it felt like she was on her own.

Jax made her WWE debut in 2015, after signing with the developmental division NXT in early 2014.

Speaking on the Hall of Fame podcast, Jax noted that for her it felt like she had to figure everything out herself while training with WWE.

She explained:

“When you first get thrown into WWE, you’re kind of like on your own, you’re just like a little baby deer and they’re like, ‘Okay, here you go figure it out.’ At least it was for me.

“I was trying to figure out who I was, who Nia Jax was as I was trying to train.

Jax was released by WWE in November 2021, but returned to the company for her second official run in September 2023, following a one-off appearance at Royal Rumble 2023.

Believing that her release was a blessing in disguise, she said:

“When I was able to step back and recalibrate, and see what I did wrong and see what I needed to do better. It was a great experience for me to sit back.

“I was still watching, I’m still a fan, I’m always going to be a fan, and so now I have all these tools in my belt, and I’m like, ‘Okay, this is what I need to do, this is what I lacked and this is what I bring now.”

She headlined WWE’s most recent premium live event, unsuccessfully challenging for Rhea Ripley’s WWE Women’s World Championship.

Nia Jax is liked to the Anoa’i/Fatu bloodline, so is considered to be related to the likes of The Rock, Roman Reigns and the Usos.
