According to a recent report from PWInsider, it is believed within WWE that the latest COVID outbreak was caused by a member of the NXT roster throwing a party, which several other trainees attended.
The report notes that this party is believed to have led to the asymptomatic transmission of the virus between those at the party, and other recruits and coaches at subsequent training sessions:
“The belief among several sources is that the outbreak started after a NXT talent threw a party that fellow trainees attended, leading to an asymptomatic transmission of the virus that then spread among those who work and train in the Performance Center.”
As has been reported previously, the belief is that the September 23 episode of NXT which aired on Wednesday had some major creative changes following the positive COVID tests. It is believed that the women’s battle royale was majorly impacted.
It is not just NXT that has been impacted by the virus this week, with a top AEW star and several other wrestlers testing positive for COVID and having to pull out of the show. You can read more about that story by clicking here.
As always, WrestleTalk would like to wish everyone that has tested positive for COVID in WWE, NXT and AEW a speedy recovery. We hope to see all those impacted back in the ring once their isolation periods have ended.
