There was a big return on tonight’s edition (February 7) of WWE NXT as the NXT Championship picture continues to evolve.

Carmelo Hayes kicked off the show with a fiery promo before interrupted by a potential roadblock on his journey toward Bron Breakker’s NXT Championship.

JD McDonagh interrupted Carmelo Hayes and challenged him to a match for later in the night.

However during the final moments of the match, both men were distracted by big entrance music playing with a shocking return.

Ilja Dragunov was back!

While Hayes was able to capitalize to get the roll up pinfall victory over JD McDonagh he then had a momentary face off with the returning Dragunov.

Although in the end, it was clear that Ilja Dragunov only had eyes for JD McDonagh as he passed by Hayes and attacked McDonagh.

Elsewhere on NXT, an exciting NXT talent got the opportunity to show off their stunning finishing move despite losing their singles match.

And after a hard hitting match, the gruesome aftermath was documented on social media for one NXT star.
