WWE Hall of Famer Paul Heyman has shared his honest thoughts on Danhausen in the midst of his first few months with the company.

Danhausen debuted at WWE Elimination Chamber and has accelerated in popularity since then, becoming one of the top merch sellers and most popular acts during any show he appears on.

In an interview on ESPN Unsportsmanlike today to promote Backlash, Paul Heyman was asked his thoughts on Danhausen, and said:

“It doesn’t matter if it’s for me, it’s a reality that he is ridiculously popular and I understand why.

“If everybody is just crazy and insane and aggressive and bitch slapping everyone else around them, well then there’s no let up, there’s no break, it becomes monotonous.

“The old expression – I’m gonna hit you with so many rights you’re gonna beg for a left to break up the monotony.

“So there’s Danhausen, and Danhausen is different and unique. And look how many people are in love with him because of it. I applaud him.”

Who Will Be Danhausen’s Tag Team Partner At WWE Backlash

One of the five matches on the WWE Backlash 2026 card will see The Miz and Kit Wilson team up against Danhausen and a mystery partner.

There haven’t really been any hints as to who Danhausen’s partner will be, with John Cena off the table despite him being the other party involved in the WrestleMania segment with Danhausen, Miz and Wilson.

There are some who believe Danhausen’s close friend CM Punk could step in, but that would be out of the blue as far as TV as their friendship has never been referenced, and it would be an odd spot for Punk after his World Heavyweight Championship loss at WrestleMania.

Perhaps the most likely suggestion at this time is Jelly Roll, who we know was planned for a match at Backlash as he was set to team with Cody Rhodes against Randy Orton and Pat McAfee before McAfee backed out of the storyline after Mania.
