WWE To Bring Back Another Pay-Per-View Name WWE

WWE appears to be set to bring back another previous pay-per-view name for an upcoming NXT premium live event.

The company has previously used various former pay-per-view names for NXT specials, with the likes of Halloween Havoc and the Great American Bash becoming regular fixtures for the developmental brand.

More recently, NXT revived the ‘Battleground’ event name for the May 28 show.

Shawn Michaels confirmed the return of the name No Mercy for an NXT premium live event on September 30 during Thursday’s (July 27) media call, with the event set to take place at the Mechanic Banks Arena in Bakersfield, CA.

WWE has since shared the following statement on the event, revealing that tickets will go on sale on August 4:

NXT® NO MERCY SET FOR BAKERSFIELD, CALIF. ON SEPTEMBER 30

STAMFORD, Conn., July 27, 2023 – WWE® (NYSE: WWE) today announced that NXT No Mercy will take place live at Mechanics Bank Arena in Bakersfield, Calif. on Saturday, September 30.

Tickets for the premium live event go on sale Friday, August 4 at 10 a.m. PT via www.axs.com. Exclusive pre-sale opportunities will be available beginning Wednesday, August 2 at 10 a.m. PT. NXT No Mercy will feature the biggest Superstars from NXT in action, including NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes, NXT Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton, Roxanne Perez, Wes Lee, Bron Breakker and more.

NXT No Mercy will stream live exclusively on Peacock in the United States and WWE Network everywhere else. Additional information on the event will be announced in the coming weeks.

WWE held 13 No Mercy events in total, starting in 1999, with the most recent No Mercy event taking place in 2017.

The main event of No Mercy 2017 saw Brock Lesnar defeat Braun Strowman to retain his Universal Championship.

Before then, NXT will hold its The Great American Bash 2023 event on Sunday (June 30).

The event will be headlined by Carmelo Hayes defending his NXT Championship against Ilja Dragunov.
